Marseille is banking on battery-powered generators for a sustainable summer
With the organization of the Olympic Games and the influx of tourists during the summer, the Marseille Tourist, Leisure and Convention Bureau installed several information kiosks throughout the city. As some of these strategic locations did not have access to the electrical grid, a mobile power solution was needed.
Rather than opting for gasoline-powered generators, the Tourist Office chose a more environmentally friendly alternative: the PESS battery-powered generator. In partnership with REVOLT rental, two kiosks were equipped with a Bobine generator and mobile solar panels, guaranteeing a sustainable and silent power supply.
In an exclusive interview, Mr. Tissot, Director General of the Marseille Tourist, Leisure and Convention Bureau, shares his experience with this eco-responsible initiative. He highlights the advantages of this solution: reduced CO2 emissions, decreased noise pollution, and increased energy independence.
“We wanted to offer an optimal service to visitors while remaining true to our commitments to sustainable development,” he explains.
The use of battery-powered generators represents a major development in the events and urban tourism sectors. With growing needs for mobile power, this technology is emerging as a reliable alternative to traditional solutions, offering both performance and environmental responsibility.
Why choose a battery-powered generator?
- Zero emissions: No noise pollution or emissions of polluting gases.
- Autonomy and mobility: Easy to move and compatible with solar panels.
- Reduced cost in the long term: Less maintenance and no fossil fuel required.
- Ideal for urban and sensitive areas: Particularly suitable for natural spaces or city centers, such as seaside areas in this case.
With this initiative, Marseille is positioning itself as a leader in more sustainable and innovative tourism. To discover the full interview with Mr. Tissot and learn more about these responsible energy solutions, watch our exclusive video above.
